Maintaining a connection with your vision board
So you have created a vision board… now what?
There is a process to creating a vision board. Now that you have gone through the stages of setting a foundation, then moving into creating a vision board that excites you, the next stage is to maintain that connection to the things you want to manifest.

Put your vision board up in a place you will pass every day
Some people create their vision board and then place it in a drawer or the back of a cupboard to gather dust. This is far from the most beneficial place. Your subconscious mind has a way of picking up information about your environment, sometimes without your actual acknowledgment. This is why placing your vision board in a place that you walk past every day will be one effortless way to keep your goals in mind and thus be able to recognise the opportunities to achieve them.
Acknowledge and celebrate each step you take that is closer to you realising your goals
A vision board is all about creating that vision of your future self, which is great! However, sometimes that can blind us from staying present and celebrating each step you take that is closer to the goal. It’s not only the destination that matters, it’s also the journey. Stay present for your wins and well as your losses.
Don’t get put off by the road blocks
Road blocks can present themselves in different forms, shapes and sizes. They can range from those negative thoughts creeping in, telling you to “give up and stop fooling yourself” or it can be more dramatic as a threat to your health. Regardless of what comes your way, trust that you will find a way. If you were met with a road block on your way to a very important engagement, would you cancel and wait for the block to clear?, or would you get your thinking cap on and find another way? Road blocks are not a sign to give up, keep going, you will get there one way or another.
Keep imagining your life as if that specific goal is already your reality. How do you feel? where are you? who is with you?
Once in a while or just as often as possible. Take the time to go back to your vision board, close your eyes and visualise yourself when your goals have become realised. There are many studies that have proven that the brain doesn’t know the difference between what is real and what is imagined. Take advantage of that for when it comes to your goals. What do you look like accepting that award, how will you feel after spending time with that person and how will you introduce yourself once you have met your future self. Your future self will thank you for it.
Check in with yourself and ask someone you trust to check in with you too
Doing this is a way of holding yourself accountable and having a back up if you get comfortable in staying where you are. Sometimes people feel unsafe sharing their desires with other people because of fears that they will be judged or the possibility of having to face that person, if those goals are not met. The truth is that, the goals on your vision board should be rooted in what you want, not what other people might want for you. If you don’t achieve them in the time frame you had set out, that doesn’t mean you have failed. Take the time to refocus, connect with your why and get back on the path. You can achieve it, as long as you don’t give up.
I have been creating vision board for the last 4 years and the tips above have helped me to stay focused and manifest the things I have set out for. A vision board is a great tool for creating with and maintaining a connection with what you want for your future self, but it is not the only tool you need. Use your vision board as a visual representation for the goals you want to work on each day and where you want to get to.
I would love to hear about how you get on with your vision board and what has manifested.
