Therapy offers a confidential space to explore thoughts and feelings safely, supporting learning, healing, understanding and growth. My role is to support you without judgement or pressure. At times I may offer information or suggestions however you are you’re never obliged to follow them.
As you read through this agreement, you’ll be asked to confirm you understand each subsection, then you’ll complete a short intake form. On average this takes approximately 15-20 minutes.
I treat all information you share as confidential in line with UK law (Data Protection Act 2018/UK GDPR) and BACP ethical practice. I keep brief clinical notes and store your personal information securely; only I can access it. I discuss my work in clinical supervision to maintain standards, but I do not share identifying details; my supervisor is also bound by confidentiality.
In the event you need to be reached in my absence, my clinical supervisor would contact you on my behalf.

Where possible I will discuss this with you first.

While I work with clients globally, please note that all sessions will be conducted in line with UK laws and ethical guidelines, regardless of the country you are based in. This includes the handling of confidentiality, complaints, and the legal framework governing our therapeutic relationship.*Please note: I cannot provide crisis intervention in other jurisdictions and may ask you to register details of local emergency services/GP equivalents.

If I am unable to attend a session, I will provide as much notice as possible and attempt to reschedule within the same week. If no alternative can be arranged, you will not be charged for any missed session on my behalf.
If you plan to miss more than two consecutive sessions and wish to keep your usual time, a holding fee of £30 per session applies from the third absence to cover operational costs..
I offer weekly sessions that last 50 minutes, in-person or online via Microsoft Teams, unless we agree otherwise. If there is an internet failure before or during an online session, I will contact you on your mobile.
Please prioritise punctuality as if you are late, we will only be able to continue for the remainder of our scheduled time.
If your session time/ day becomes unsuitable, please let me know, and we can do our best to find a mutually convenient alternative. We agree not to record any sessions, whether in person, or via video link, unless mutually agreed in writing.
If you feel therapy is not meeting your expectations, I encourage you to discuss this with me rather than abruptly ending therapy. I am open to addressing your concerns without any judgement or pressure to continue.
I ask that you provide at least two weeks’ notice before ending therapy, so that we can prepare a planned ending. You are under no obligation to continue with therapy if you choose to stop.
I use your data to deliver therapy, meet legal obligations, and with your consent for specific items (e.g., how I contact you).

If you have a complaint, I encourage you to share it with me directly so I can address it responsibly and respectfully. If you feel your concerns are unresolved, you may contact the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), the regulatory body for the counselling profession via their website.
We expect mutual respect during our sessions. Aggressive or violent behaviour will not be tolerated, and if such behaviour poses a threat, your counselling agreement may be reconsidered.
